From old and century-old vines on the legendary Les Rocoules lieu-dit, this Hermitage Blanc 2023 reveals a broad and deep palate, carried by remarkable mineral tension and outstanding ageing potential.

Terroir

Facing due south on the southern slope of the Hermitage hill, the Les Rocoules lieu-dit rests on a unique combination of limestone, marl, rolled pebbles and iron oxides. The vines, some over 100 years old, produce a wine of great depth, marked by the tension, salinity and aromatic complexity that define this exceptional terroir.

Winemaking

Cold static settling and pressing adapted to grape ripeness. Aged in pièces on fine lees to reveal the full richness of the fruit and the personality of the terroir. Vinified with minimal oenological inputs and very moderate sulphiting.

Technical Specifications

100% Marsanne. Certified Organic. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Contains sulfites. Format: 75 cl.

Tasting Notes

Powerful aromas combining woody vanilla, buttery and brioche notes, sweet spices and quince. Broad and generous on the palate, carried by beautiful saline tension and a long mineral finish, a sign of freshness and longevity.

Food Pairing

Veal in cream sauce, chicken with girolle mushrooms, sole or turbot in sauce, langoustine, lobster, mushroom risotto, Saint-Marcellin or Brillat-Savarin.

Serving & Cellaring

Serving temperature: 11 to 12°C. Decanting: recommended 1 hour before tasting. Cellaring potential: from 2028 for optimal expression, with ageing potential through 2038–2040.
