Crozes-Hermitage

WHITE

Les Coquelicots

2024

The most authentic expression of the Gervans slopes: an organic white Crozes-Hermitage combining generous fruit, freshness and elegance.

Grape Variety-ies

Assemblage de Marsanne majoritaire et d'une touche de Roussanne. La Marsanne apporte rondeur, ampleur et notes miellées tandis que la Roussanne apporte finesse, fraîcheur et complexité aromatique.

Terroir

From hillside vineyards in the northern part of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, in the village of Gervans, this wine comes from vines up to 80 years old, planted on decomposed granite and loess soils. This terroir gives the wine its elegant minerality, silky texture and aromatic complexity.

Winemaking

Cold static settling and pressing adapted to grape ripeness. Aged on fine lees in tank to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. Vinified with minimal oenological inputs and very low sulphiting at bottling.

Technical Specifications

95% Marsanne. 5% Roussanne. Certified Organic. Alcohol: 13% vol. Contains sulfites. Total SO₂ below 50 mg/L. Format: 75 cl.

Tasting Notes

Rich, open aromas of ripe yellow fruit, honey, white flowers and hints of vanilla. Broad and silky on the palate, with flavors of linden honey, fresh almond and juicy pear, leading to a long, elegant finish.

Food Pairing

Scallop carpaccio with citrus, grilled white fish, sashimi, ceviche, chicken in cream sauce, summer vegetable tagine and fresh goat cheeses.

Serving & Cellaring

Serving temperature: 11 to 12°C. Decanting: not necessary. Cellaring potential: ideal young for its generous fruit and freshness, or after a few years to develop greater aromatic complexity.

Winemaker's Notes

This white Crozes-Hermitage cuvée is a faithful expression of our exceptional terroir and old vines. Above all, I seek balance between aromatic richness, tension and elegance, in order to reveal the full personality of our Gervans slopes.

Certifications

Certified organic viticulture since 2008, low-intervention winemaking, lightweight bottle without capsule and recyclable materials.
