Crozes-Hermitage
RED
Cuvée Les Coquelicots
2023

An authentic, generous Crozes-Hermitage from a blend of granitic terroirs and rolled pebbles. An elegant, fresh and immediately approachable Syrah.
Grape Variety-ies
100% Syrah
Terroir
The red Crozes-Hermitage comes from 13 hectares spread across the granitic slopes of Gervans and Crozes-Hermitage and the rolled pebbles of the Châssis plain. This contrast between mineral freshness and the roundness of the terraces brings balance and complexity to the blend. Vine age: 15 to 70 years. Altitude: 140 to 240 m. Exposure: South to South-West. Soils: decomposed granite, loess, red clay and glacial rolled pebbles.
Winemaking
Vinified with pump-overs and punch-downs adapted according to tastings. No enzymes and no fining agents. Aged in barrels, then in concrete tank to preserve the expression of the fruit and the terroir. Minimal sulphiting only at bottling.

Winemaker's Notes
This special “Les Coquelicots” cuvée is a faithful snapshot of our Crozes-Hermitage and of what our terroir can offer without artifice. I seek drinkability, elegance, respect for Syrah and the emotion of a living wine. I cultivate my vines as one cultivates a relationship: with patience, attention and trust. The 2023 vintage is particularly marked by fruit and by the climatic conditions of the year.
